Prof. Chris Schuh

Chief Scientist, Co-founder

Prof. Chris Schuh is the Chief Scientist at Veloxint, and former Department Head of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a world leader in fundamental and applied metallurgy, with a focus on discovering new science that can be commercialized industrially. Prof. Schuh is a serial entrepreneur whose companies have raised over $100M in venture capital financing. Prior to Veloxint he co-founded Xtalic Corporation which successfully developed a nanocrystalline metal coatings technology which has been used on over 12 billion electronics components around the world. He is also a co-founder of Desktop Metal, Inc., which specializes in 3D printing of metal components via small- and large-scale production systems. He holds a B.S. degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, both in the fields of Materials Science and Engineering.
